Data collection

How We Store and Use Data Collected from Strava

We collect the following data from Strava:

ACTIVITIES: athlete_id, name, distance, moving_time, total_elevation_gain, type, id, start_date, start_date_local, start_lat, start_lng, end_lat, end_lng, location_city, location_country, map_polyline, average_speed, max_speed, average_cadence, average_temp, average_heartrate, max_heartrate, elev_high, elev_low, gear_id, gear_name, average_watts, max_watts, calories, photo

Activities data is the core of RunRide.Studio, we use it for all infographics. For example: map_polyline is used for heatmap, distance is for distance screen and so on.

Some of the data is not used currently but we plan to when develop new features. For example, we plan to use gear_name to show statistics about your gear, and location_city to show page with all cities you have ran

USER: id, username, firstname, lastname, city, state, country, sex, profile picture

We collect this data as part of login/register process. For now we do not us it for anything, but there are some ideas to be used like comparison by location

STREAM: time, destination

The STREAM data is only used to calculate your best efforts

Data store

We store this data in a secure MySQL database hosted in DigitalOcean.

We will never sell or share your data with other parties
